Alabama and Texas Tech kept control of their own destinies with wins on Saturday, the Tide earning a 27-21 win in OT at LSU and the Red aiders whipping Oklahoma State 56-20.  Penn State?  Not so lucky.

Alabama missed a shot to win the game with a field goal in regulation, but came away with the No. 1 ranking still intact in the first OT period for the 27-21 win at LSU.  The Crimson Tide, 3-point favorites coming in, picked off Tigers QB Jarrett Lee four times, including on LSU's first OT possession, and then won it on a John Parker Wilson one-yard sneak.

Texas Tech scored 14 points in all four quarters in Lubbock to embarrass Oklahoma State 56-20.  Graham Harrell threw for over 450 yards and six scores, three of them to Michael Crabtree, and the Red Raiders made easy work of the 3½-point chalk line they carried into the game.

And the chances of seeing a Big Ten school in the BCS Championship went up in smoke at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City when the Hawkeyes' Daniel Murray booted a 31-yard field goal with a second left to lead Iowa past Penn State (-7½) in a 24-23 upset.
