I'm laying the price with the New York Yankees on the road Tuesday night against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
New York has fared quite well against southpaws in road night action, scoring an average of 5.3 runs per game in eight tries. They should have little trouble tonight against one of the most disappointing pitchers of 2008, Tom Gorzelanny. The southpaw has allowed 21 earned runs and 65 base runners, including 27 walks in just 38.2 innings pitched this season at PNC.
In fact, he's handed out more free passes than he has strikeouts (20). The Pirates staff owns a horrible 5.06 ERA this season, just what the doctor ordered for the Yankee hitters. Behind the current strong run by Alex Rodriguez, I expect New York to build on Sunday's 11-hit attack in their series finale win over Cincinnati. I'm laying the road price with the Yankees on Tuesday night.
