Phoenix Suns look to extend five-game streak at home vs. Trail Blazers
Game Time: Wednesday, February 10, 2010 09:00 PM ET
Maybe Phoenix should've started Amare Stoudemire trade rumors sooner with the way the All-Star has caught fire recently. Side with the Suns tonight as home chalk against Portland.
Our Wednesday night NBA selection is on the Phoenix Suns minus the points at home over the Portland Trail Blazers.
Alvin Gentry's men have had an up-and-down first half of the NBA season, but lately, they've played well, and carry a five-game win streak into tonight's game vs. the Trail Blazers. And what's most impressive about this current win streak is that four of the five games have been on the road – and against pretty tough competition.
The Suns are a virtual lock to score at least 100 points – They've only failed to do so in six of 52 games this season – and the Trail Blazers are a dreadful 3-14 straight-up and 5-12 ATS when their opponent reaches the century mark this season.
Also, Phoenix falls into an 87-52 ATS system of mine that plays on certain rested, home favorites, priced from -4 to -15 points, off three (or more) wins on the road.
The Suns' current five-game win streak includes a four-game road sweep from their recent trip away from home. Amare Stoudemire, wit trade rumors swirling, is playing his best ball of the season with three double-double's on the road trip, just missing a fourth last Friday in Sacramento when he scored 30 and grabbed nine boards.
Look for the Suns to rip Portland tonight. Lay the points.
Free Pick: Suns -8½ (-110)
