ATLANTA (Ticker) -- Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox has been
suspended one game Tuesday for inappropriate conduct and
comments made during the third inning of Sunday's 15-6 loss to
the Washington Nationals. Cox, who also was fined an undisclosed amount, will serve the
suspension on Tuesday, when the Braves continue a three-game
series at Florida. The 67-year-old Cox charged out of the dugout after plate umpire
Chris Guccione began pointing at Braves pitcher Buddy Carlyle,
who had just walked Willie Harris to force in a run. Cox yelled
and pointed his finger at Guccione, earning his 141st career
ejection, which extended his major league record. After returning to the dugout, Cox continued shouting at crew
chief Tim Welke, who was at first base.
