SCarolina's Archie takes name out of NBA draft
COLUMBIA, S.C.(AP) -- South Carolina forward Dominique Archie says
he is removing his name from the NBA draft and returning to
school for his senior season.
Archie said Thursday he received valuable feedback about his
game from his workouts for NBA teams, but felt it was in his
best interest to stay in school.
Archie averaged 10.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per game during his
junior season, helping South Carolina to 21 wins and a share of
the Southeastern Conference East title.
The Gamecocks now wait to see if guard Devan Downey comes back.
Downey has also worked out for NBA teams and is considering his
options. The deadline to return to school is Monday.
Downey was an all-SEC guard last season, averaging 19.8 points
and 4.5 steals a game.
