TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- The St. Louis Blues will look to continue their surprising playoff push when they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday.

With a 6-2-1 record in their last nine games, the Blues have pulled to within four points of Anaheim and Edmonton, which are tied for eighth place with 68 points in the Western Conference.

The Blues failed in their attempt for a season-high four straight wins Tuesday, dropping a 5-0 decision to the Detroit Red Wings.

After allowing one goal in five straight games, netminder Chris Mason allowed five goals on 36 shots in the losing effort.

Tampa Bay is 2-6-1 in its last nine games following a 3-1 loss to Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

Vaclav Prospal had the lone goal for the Lightning, who are just two points clear of Atlanta for last place in the Southeast Division.
