Blues aim to continue surge vs. Lightning-

TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- The St. Louis Blues will look to
continue their surprising playoff push when they visit the Tampa
Bay Lightning on Friday.
With a 6-2-1 record in their last nine games, the Blues have
pulled to within four points of Anaheim and Edmonton, which are
tied for eighth place with 68 points in the Western Conference.
The Blues failed in their attempt for a season-high four
straight wins Tuesday, dropping a 5-0 decision to the Detroit
Red Wings.
After allowing one goal in five straight games, netminder Chris
Mason allowed five goals on 36 shots in the losing effort.
Tampa Bay is 2-6-1 in its last nine games following a 3-1 loss
to Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
Vaclav Prospal had the lone goal for the Lightning, who are just
two points clear of Atlanta for last place in the Southeast
Division.
