Things haven't worked out quite as planned for Portland with injuries taking their toll and leaving the team with just seven players in its last game, a home loss to Memphis.  Still, the Trail Blazers are just a game behind Denver in the Northwest Division as they prepare for a tough pair of home contests this weekend.  First up are the Lakers on Friday, with Kobe's squad departing just in time for a Sunday game vs. the Cavs.

The Portland Trail Blazers have had to withstand many injuries this season, none more serious than recently losing big man Greg Oden for the whole season with a fractured kneecap. However, the Blazers have hung in nicely so far thanks to some nice depth, and they have also played well on the road. That will serve them well when they visit Dwayne Wade and the Heat, who just welcomed back Quentin Richardson.

Dwayne Wade has almost single-handedly carried the Miami Heat this season, and he will now try and carry his team past the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the playoffs. It will not be easy though, as the Hawks were a great home team this year and Atlanta did take three of the four meetings this year. Remember also that the Hawks gained some valuable playoff by taking the Celtics to seven games last year.
