The Boise St Broncos are finally hitting on all cylinders and will look to improve on their winning ways against the Wyoming Cowboys. Will the Broncos blow the Cowboys away or will Wyoming keep it close? See where we go with are our money inside.
Wyoming head coach suspended for this tilt
As if things weren't bad enough for the Cowboys, who have 1
win in their last 7 games overall, their HC will not be on the sidelines
against Boise St. This is due to misconduct. And the odds makers have opened this match-up at 16.5 point spread.
Dave Christenson went on an absolute post game tirade after the
Cowboys lost to Air Force. It was so bad that the AD fined him 50,000 dollars
and took him off the side lines for probably their biggest game of the season.
Boise State QB, Joe Southwick is finally progressing.
Southwick started off the season horrible and looked like
the starting QB position may have been too much pressure for him but he has
progressed nicely over the last couple of games. Against New Mexico, Southwick
passed for over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns. Against Southern Miss, he again
passed for 3 touchdowns. He is not only throwing for touch downs but he is
completing a much higher percentage of his passes. A sign that a quarterback is
in complete command of the offense he is running.
Wyoming is one of the worst teams in the nation
As we said the Cowboys have one win in their last 7 games
and those eight games haven't exactly been against power houses either. They
have lost to Fresno State (42-14), Air Force, Nevada, Cal Poly (yes, Cal Poly),
Toledo, Texas and Temple. The only worthy team in that list was Texas, which
was the opening game of the season, which they were blown out 37-17 and have
gotten progressively worse ever since.
The Boise State defense is also rounding into form along with
QB, Joe Southwick. Five straight games they have not given up over 14 points,
playing absolute shut down defense. Wyoming is averaging 375 total yards per
game, while Boise is only allowing a total of 316.
If the Cowboys have any strength on offense, it is their
passing game, which is averaging 240 yards through the air per game. Here is
the kicker though, you can't pass on this Broncos defense as they are holding
teams down to just 158 yards passing per game, almost 2.5 sacks per game, while
holding opposing quarterbacks to just a 58% completion percentage.
This thing has blow out written all over it
Boise State has opened up a 16 point road favorite and you'd
be hard pressed not to lay the points here. These are two teams going in
complete opposite directions. The Broncos are rounding into form, while the
Cowboys are completely falling apart at the seams. Use this information wisely while making your college football picks.
