The 20121/3 BCS Championship game was played just nine days ago, but that doesn’t mean it’s too early to focus on the upcoming season and think about future college football picks.
Today, we take a look at the Oregon
Ducks and their expectations to beat the college football odds for next year.
Oregon Ducks 2013-14
BCS Preview
The Odds
The Oregon Ducks trail only the reigning BCS Champion
Alabama Crimson Tide (5/1) on odds board to become the best team in college
football for the 2013-14 campaign, as they are listed as 8/1 favorites.
The Schedule
Oregon looks to have somewhat of favorable schedule in the
upcoming season, as they have home games against Nicholls State, Tennessee,
California, Washington State, UCLA, Utah and Oregon State.
Meanwhile, their road games have them traveling to Nevada,
Colorado, Washington, Stanford and Arizona.
Learn From Mistakes
Oregon finished its 2012/13 season with 12 wins and just 1
loss on the year, but that lone defeat proved to be costly and prevented the
Ducks from playing for the BCS Title.
After ten straight blowout victories, Oregon fell to
Stanford 17-14 in overtime on November 17th, which ended their hopes
of becoming college football’s most elite team for at least one year. They
bounced back for their final game of the regular season by beating Oregon State
48-24. However, it was too little to late for the Ducks.
Following the regular season, Oregon was awarded the Fiesta
Bowl matchup against #5 Kansas State and came away with the victory on January
3rd, winning by a score of 35-17.
Something To Prove
Oregon should be extremely motivated to enter this upcoming
season, with something to prove, as the BCS Championship in 2012/13 was theirs
for the taking and they know they blew a tremendous opportunity to be deemed
the best college football team in the land.
The Roundup
I expect Oregon to steamroll its opponents once again this
season. They should take last season’s experience, capitalize on it and
make a serious run at the title, while being a great team to tail for our college football betting.
