SMU and TCU renew their rivalry after a one-year hiatus at Amon Carter Stadium in Ft. Worth.  Look for the Horned Frogs to make up for the loss in 2005 with a rout of the Mustangs.

The line on TCU has been riding up this week and it is doing so with good reason. The Horned Frogs are fighting mad about the way they essentially gave away last week's game to Air Force. TCU is now ready to make a statement in this game and SMU makes the perfect opponent for such a blowout statement!

The Mustangs have proven to be very weak on defense so far this season and the Horned Frogs are also seeking revenge against SMU after the Mustangs notched a rare victory in their last meeting in this series. SMU just lost by 17 at Arkansas State. That doesn't bode well for their chances in this one.

This is especially true when we hear the way TCU is talking coming into this game. They are fired up about losing back-to-back games (Texas and Air Force) that they know they had chances to win. As for SMU they have proven that the loss of their defensive leaders from last season has been too much for the team to overcome. In fact, it is apparent that it's dragging the whole team down.

Keep in mind that these teams haven't met since 2005 and the Mustangs did get the victory in that most recent matchup as noted above. The significance of that SMU win was that it handed TCU their only loss that season and the Horned Frogs certainly remember it as this game is a big matchup in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This one is about more than just bragging rights year-to-year; it's about the overall state of affairs in college football in this area. It's a key matchup and it's one that Frogs coach Gary Patterson wants to get a strangehold on again.

The Horned Frogs defense is stout when they bring their 'A'game, which they most certainly will on Saturday night. That means a big edge on the defensive side of the ball in this one and that is why the Mustangs will end up getting blown out in this one. Play TCU minus the points.
