DENVER (Ticker) -- After a stirring victory on Friday night, the
Colorado Rockies are feeling the effects one day later. The Rockies on Saturday placed shortstop Troy Tulowitzki on the
15-day disabled list with a laceration on his right hand and
optioned rookie righthander Greg Reynolds to Class AAA Colorado
Springs. On Friday night, Colorado overcame a nine-run deficit to post an
18-17 win over the Florida Marlins. Tulowitzki went 1-for-4
with a run scored in the contest. According to the Denver Post, Tulowitzki suffered the laceration
when he pounded a bat into the ground after being replaced by
Omar Quintanilla in the seventh inning of Friday's marathon
game. Tulowitzki spent 46 games on the disabled list earlier this
season with a strained quadriceps and is batting just .166 with
three home runs and 16 RBI in 39 contests. To replace Tulowitzki and Reynolds on the roster, Colorado
recalled outfielder Seth Smith and lefthander Glendon Rusch from
Colorado Springs.
