Trevor Cahill is one of the better pitchers in the American League this year, but he was hit hard in his only start vs. the Yankees and he is now pitching in a hitter’s stadium for a change.

Without any fanfare, Trevor Cahill of the Oakland Athletics has transformed himself into one of the best pitchers in the American League. However, he did not fare well in his only start vs. the New York Yankees, and the Yankees are countering with a weak link in their rotation in Dustin Moseley, making the ‘over’ the play here.
The bookmakers have installed Oakland A's odds and Yankees odds at a total of 8½ for the contest, with the mlb betting odds favoring the ‘over’ at -120.
Cahill is now 14-5, and he is among the leader in the American League in both ERA (2.43) and WHIP (1.00). That said, the Yankees were not impressed in his only other appearance against them earlier this season, as they reached him for six earned runs in six innings. Furthermore, that start came at pitcher-friendly Oakland Alameda Coliseum, and he is now making his first career start at Yankee Stadium
This would not be the first time a young pitcher was intimidated in his first start in this stadium. This is not to mention that the new Yankee Stadium is somewhat of a hitter’s paradise, with the call carrying well especially in the allies. The ‘over’ is 35-24-5 in the Bronx this year with those games averaging 10.29 runs.
Mosely is 4-2, but he has a rather high 4.53 ERA and he has been worse than that lately. He has a 5.87 ERA and a whopping 1.76 WHIP in his last three starts, and he has just two Quality Starts in his last five outings, going the minimum requirement of six innings in the two good efforts. He is now facing an Oakland offense that has perked up the last couple of days, scoring 13 runs in the last two games vs. Texas.
We see no reason why the final run output in this contest shouldn’t reach double-digits.
