The San Francisco Giants evened this week’s series with the Colorado Rockies, holding on for Tuesday’s 9-8 victory as 150 road favorites. Wednesday night’s National League West slate has the clubs meeting in the set’s rubber match, while the Los Angeles Dodgers wrap up a five-game road trip against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

San Francisco Giants (Lincecum) at Colorado Rockies (Francis) – 8:40 p.m. (ET)

San Francisco sends right-hander Tim Lincecum (8-14, 5.11 ERA) to the hill against Rockies southpaw Jeff Francis (5-4, 5.38 ERA). Sports books opened Lincecum as a 125 favorite, while first listing the ‘total’ at a flat 10 ½.

Buster PoseyLincecum picked up a no-decision in Friday’s 5-2 win for San Francisco as a 101 home dog against the Dodgers. The four-time All-Star gave up two runs on four hits, while allowing seven walks over 6 1/3 innings.

Francis saw Colorado edged out in a 3-2 defeat on the same night of action, ending up with a no-decision in Philadelphia. The 31-year-old tossed 5 2/3 frames of shutout ball, giving up six hits en route to logging seven strikeouts.

Last month’s series at Coors Field between the clubs saw Francis shelled for six early runs, while Lincecum held the Rockies to one run over a six-inning stint. Francis’ outings have still had their share of inconsistencies since that start, while Lincecum has reached late-season form with eight runs allowed in his last 23 1/3 IP.

San Francisco is 10-3 in its last 13 spots as the MLB odds favorite on the road, while going 5-2 in its last seven contests against a left-handed starter. Look for Lincecum to get the money here at a fairly low premium, moving “The Freak” to a 5-0 mark in his last five outings away from home.

Los Angeles Dodgers (Harang) at Arizona Diamondbacks (Cahill) – 9:40 p.m. (ET)

MLB betting shops had opened the Diamondbacks as the -135 favorites, but that number has since been bet down to -130. It looks as if sports bettors are high on Cahill, and we can use this to our advantage tonight.

Arizona’s Trevor Cahill (10-11, 3.98 ERA) and Los Angeles’ Aaron Harang (9-8, 3.75 ERA) meet here in a matchup of right-handed starters, batting each other for the fourth time this year. The trio of prior affairs saw Arizona go 2-1, with the sole contest at Chase Field won by the Dodgers, 8-7.

Cahill notched his first win in seven starts with last Wednesday’s 6-2 triumph for Arizona in San Francisco as a 137 underdog. The fourth-year hurler gave up both of the Giants’ runs, allowing two hits over 6 1/3 innings.

Harang saw action on the same night, lasting five frames in a 4-3 defeat for Los Angeles as a 133 home favorite against the San Diego Padres. The California native ended up with a no-decision, allowing two earned runs on seven hits.

Arizona pulled off a 1-0 victory in Tuesday’s front end of the two-game set, with Diamondbacks catcher Miguel Montero driving in the game’s sole run. Montero’s bat should stay warm here with Harang on the hill, hitting 9-for-17 lifetime facing the righty, while mate Paul Goldschmidt has drilled two homers in eight career outings against Harang.

Arizona is 5-1 in Cahill’s last six starts against clubs with winning records, while facing a Dodgers lineup that has notched just 1.2 RPG in the first four dates of its road trip.

With my MLB bettng slections tonight I am looking for Cahill to hand Los Angeles its fifth straight loss in its visits to Chase Field, adding another defeat to the Dodgers’ 1-5 mark in their last six matchups against a listed righty.
