Two teams in the midst of making comebacks in their division races continue an interleague series as the Giants and Angels meet Tuesday night in Anaheim. Who do we like to grab some cash with some MLB betting action on this all-California affair?

Giants vs. Angels Tuesday Preview

San Francisco took the opener of this series Monday night 5-3, getting a so-so outing from Matt Cain in his first start since his perfecto, but four perfect innings from the bullpen.

The Giants won Monday as even-money “underdogs,” and the game went 'over' its total of seven when San Fran pushed across the final run of the game in the top of the sixth.

LA Angels vs. San Francisco Giants

Coming into this series the Giants had just lost two of three games in Seattle over the weekend, while the Angels had taken two of three from Arizona.

So the Angels, at 36-32, are in second place in the AL West, five games behind the first-place Texas Rangers, while the Giants, at 38-30, are in second place in the NL West, 4.5 games back of the division-leading Los Angeles Dodgers.

Tuesday's Pitching Matchup

Today's pitching matchup gives us a battle of lefties. Barry Zito (5-4, 3.61) gets the call Tuesday (10 pm Eastern) for San Francisco against CJ Wilson (7-4, 2.30) for LA.

For the season Zito has given up 69 hits in 77 innings, but the 33 walks bring his WHIP up to 1.32.Zito is only five-for-13 on quality starts this season, but the Giants are 7-6 in games he's started. Zito has been alright for most of this season, and carried a sub-3.00 ERA into June. But over his last two starts, including a losing effort vs. Houston last Thursday, he's allowed nine earned runs on 14 hits in 11 innings.

Wilson, meanwhile, is a solid 10-for-14 on quality starts this season, and the Angels are 10-4 in his starts. Including his latest outing, a winning effort vs. the Dodgers last Wednesday, Wilson has strung together five QS in a row in which he's allowed just three ER on 17 hits over 35 innings.

On the season Wilson has given up just 57 hits in 86 innings, although his walk total is also a bit high, at 38.

Giants vs. Angels Tuesday Betting Line and Trends

Many online baseball betting shops opened this game with LA and Wilson favored by around -190. But it didn't take long before many of those baseball betting outlets bumped the Angels to -200.

Most shops are also pegging this game with an 'over/under' of seven.

Finally, the Halos can be found at around +110 on the run line at some shops.

In early betting on this game 58 percent of MLB picks on the side is coming down on the Angels, while play on the total is split 50/50.

As LA ranks 23rd in the Majors in scoring at under four runs per game and fourth in team ERA at 3.48, the 'over/unders' have gone 24-43 in Angels games this season.

The 'over/unders' are a combined 7-20 in Zito and Wilson's starts this year.

Statistically Speaking

So far this season the Giants are slightly less effective offensively going against left-handed pitching than vs. right-handed, with a .292 team OBP and 3.9 RPG. On the other lineup card the Angels have been slightly better going against lefties vs. righties, with a .310 OBP and 4.1 RPG.

Giants vs. Angels Free MLB Pick

Wilson is on a roll, putting up some crazy lately, so we're going to back him. But we don't like that -200 price, so we'll add a play on the Angels on the run line to our list of free MLB picks for Tuesday.
