John Ryan brings you a special 20* graded play for tonights game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks in the second round of the NBA Playoffs. Nowitzki and crew will head into the Staples Arena for a 10:30pm ET tip off.

Ryan won his 25* NBA Game of the Year Sunday with the Miami Heat. He is now on an incredible 42-23-1 ATS run for 65% winners. His research has uncovered a play that grades as a 20* Titan and is reinforced by a massive amount of research featuring TWO proven systems + several game situations.

20* NBA free pick on the Los Angeles Lakers as they take on the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinal. My proprietary sports handicapping database and simulator shows a high probability that the Lakers will win this game by seven or more points.

Supporting systems

Supporting this graded play is a system that has produced a record of 87-42 ATS for 67.4% winners since 1996. Play against road dogs of 3.5 to 9.5 points revenging a loss where opponent scored 100 or more points and playing with three or more days rest. The last time these teams played the Lakers destroyed the Mavericks 110-82 and were installed as 6 1/2 point home favorites.

If you like the money line play for this game you will enjoy the following system that has produced a 55-5 record for 92% winners using the money line since 1996. Play against road dogs using the money line revenging a road blowout loss versus the current opponent of 20 or more points and is off a road win.

Game plans

It is no secret that Dallas will use the most fundamental play known in basketball, the pick-and-roll, to force the Lakers big men to move from the paint areas. New Orleans Chris Paul was exceptionally good at that and the Hornets were able to exploit the open space created by moving the Lakers’ front line. The one play that will not work for any opponent is the post-up on the strong side. This is where the Lakers length can dominate a team and Dirk Nowitzki does not have the physical strength to go up against the Lakers’ Gasol, Bynum, and Odem for full 48 minutes.

Since it is no secret that Dallas will look to use the pick-and roll in this game and series it is a near certainty that the extended Lakers practice was focused squarely on defending that play with several combinations of players. By using different looks, the Lakers will throw the Mavericks offense completely out of sync and will force them to become a dominate perimeter team.

Team Rankings and Stats

Rebounding will be a significant part of this series and one that I strongly believe will be dominated by the Lakers. The Lakers rank sixth in the NBA in total rebounding averaging 51.9 rebounds per game and have averaged 52.2 boards per game in home tilts. The Mavericks rank 22nd in total rebounding average 48.4 boards per game and are averaging 48.6 boards per game in road tilts.

The Lakers rank third in rebounding differential at a plus 7.3 and Dallas ranks seventh at a plus two rebounding differential. This means that the Lakers average 7.3 more total rebounds than their opponents this season and Dallas is getting just two more boards per game than their opponents. Dallas has three seven footers in their own right in Tyson Chandler, Brendan Haywood and superstar Dirk Nowitzki. This rebounding disparity between the two teams under scores the superior strength and physicality the Lakers will enjoy in this game and the series. Going against ScottK and his Mavs prediction, I am giving you this 20* Titan play on the Lakers.
