CP3 and the Los Angeles Clippers travel to South Beach to face Lebron James and the 2-time defending NBA Champions Miami Heat. Even though both of these teams have 2 losses attached to their resume, you could see them meeting up in the NBA Finals.

Tip-off is scheduled for tonight at 7:00 pm ET at AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, Florida. This game can be seen on the TNT Network.

Bet 365 Sportsbook lists the Heat as a 5.5 point betting favorite and the total for this game is 208.

2013-2014 NBA MVP Is Up For Grabs

One would naturally assume that the best player on the planet in Lebron James would pick up another MVP trophy, but not this year. CP3 has come out like a ball of fire, putting up huge numbers and playing the best basketball of his career. Thus far, Chris Paul has been the best player in the NBA, but let’s remember, we still have 77 games to go. Nevertheless, a matchup between “LBJ” and “CP3” is going to be a very competitive one as these two team from each side of the country collide.

Time To Take Over

Image previewThe last time that I talked about Lebron James, I mentioned that he needed to be more selfish and let the rest of his teammates ride his back. He did just this in his last game, a 104-95 victory over the Toronto Raptors. James almost pulled off a triple-double with 35 points, 8, rebounds, and 8 assists. Basketball is a team sport, and when LBJ is unselfish and defers the Heat seem to not play to their maximum potential.

They already have to worry about the decline in the game of Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh had a baby on Tuesday and we’re unaware of his status for tonight’s game. It’s evident that there’s somewhat of a decline in D.Wade’s game, but Wade is still better than 85-90% of the players in the NBA, averaging a respectable 18.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. If Wade can play at this level consistently, Miami will remain the most dangerous team in the NBA.

With the loss of Mike Miller, guys like Mario Chalmers and Shane Battier have given ample support to keep this team afloat. Look for Battier, to shadow the Clippers hottest player in tonight’s game.

“Cliff Paul’s Brother”

Chris Paul, a.k.a “CP3”, a.k.a “Cliiff Paul’s brother”, is not only a hit on commercials, but he is locked into a zone of his own in 2013. Paul has increased his offensive production to 24.8 points per game to go along with his 12.6 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game. From watching some of his games, he seems to be in sync with big man, Blake Griffin, and that could spell trouble for Miami if Bosh doesn’t play. Both of these players have carried this team this season and have found a complimentary player in J.J. Redick that appears to have been the missing piece.

Redick has gotten off to a fast start this season. He’s averaging 17.2 points per game and is the shooting guard that could put the Clippers over the top. Playing on a team like Los Angeles has also put pressure on Redick to elevate the level of his play and thus far, it’s been a huge success.

Outcome

This is going to be an exciting game to watch and might go down to the final buzzer. Add the Clippers and the 5.5 points to you NBA picks; it should be enough to cover them and your bet in this highly contested matchup.
