Which of tonight's matchups have we decided to add to our NBA picks?

Nine NBA matchups line the schedule for this evening, and below I give you a look into my favorite NBA picks for Monday night.

Miami Heat vs Indiana Pacers

LeBron JamesAfter losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder last evening, the Heat have to travel to Indiana to face a Pacers team that will be just as hungry to try and beat them. I mentioned in my parlay article yesterday that the Heat have been having trouble scoring the ball recently, and I see that trend continuing this evening.

Although I think the Heat will win and probably cover the NBA betting spread, I’m focusing on the total tonight. The Heat and Pacers are both top ten defensive units and with the Heat being tired after their rough game against Kevin Durant and company last night, I’m siding with the under.

Two of the three games between these two teams this season have gone under the total, including the last two. Also, eight of the last eleven games between the two in Indiana have gone under. As teams play each other more and more, their defensive schemes get better and better. With the offensive troubles Lebron James has been having, I like the under in this Eastern Conference battle.

My Pick: ‘under’ 193

Detroit Pistons vs Washington Wizards

A lottery team battle could be without several key members for both teams, which is why I have decided to add this game to my sports picks for today. The Wizards have been without the services of big man Nene over the last two games with back spasms, and considering how much money he is owed, and how important he is to the Wizards, I don’t see him playing, and I like the Pistons in this spot as low spread favorites.

The Wizards played last night in Boston, and they had to travel back down to DC after the very ugly game. The Wizards were outscored by Avery Bradley in the first quarter alone and were not able to score more the 22 points in a quarter in their 88-76 loss to the Celtics.

Even though the Pistons could be without Rodney Stuckey once again, the offensive power of Ben Gordon, Brandon Knight and Greg Monroe will be more then enough to get the road win and cover in this spot. The Pistons are only favored by -1.5, and the Wizards are only 1-5 SU in their last six games, and the Pistons own a 7-3 ATS record in the last ten games played against the Wizards. Washington won their only game against the Pistons this season, so look for the Pistons to get some revenge from that loss tonight.

My Pick: Pistons -1.5

Milwaukee Bucks vs New York Knicks

Look everyone! The Knicks are once again overvalued by the NBA odds makers. Just take it as free money! New York is favored by -6 tonight against the Bucks, and I am even tempted to take the Bucks moneyline because of it. With the tandem backcourt of Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings, Jeremy Lin will have his hands full, if he even plays.

Amare Stoudemire left Saturday’s game with a back issue, and due to his issues with back problems in the past; I don’t see him playing this evening. Obviously this is just speculation, but I would consider it a good bet. Plus, Jeremy Lin was pulled from Saturday’s game as well, though he could have returned. The Knicks are already down several players, including Jared Jeffries and Bill Walker.

Milwaukee has won both meetings with the Knicks so far this season, and with all the injury concerns with the Knicks tonight, I see the Bucks winning outright. However, I’m playing it safe, and going with the Bucks and taking the points.

My Pick: Bucks +6
