Amidst six scheduled games, which are the best betting spots of the day? Check out my top NBA picks for Tuesday night.
Even though the Knicks were without Amare Stoudemire, and
then also lost Carmelo Anthony early on yesterday, they still easily covered as
small home favorites against the Jazz to cash my pick. Thanks Jeremy Lin!
There's not too much to choose from today, but follow along
with me as I hand out a couple angles I'm liking to come through for our NBA picks tonight.
Milwaukee (10-13 SU, 11-12 ATS) vs. Phoenix (10-14 SU,
10-14 ATS)
Tipoff at 8:00 PM EST
Earlier this season Phoenix hosted Milwaukee and won 109-93
to cover as 7.5-point favorites. The Suns doubled up the Bucks in fast break
points and got double-digit scoring out of seven different players.
Steve Nash may have scored just 10 points, but he dished out
an impressive 17 assists in just over 27 minutes of action in the win. He
completely outplayed Brandon Jennings at the point and we'll see here shortly
if he can do so again.
Milwaukee's been off for a few days and that rest could help
out a team that's lost two straight. Phoenix will be playing their second game
in as many nights, but should be feeling confident after recording a fantastic
road win over Atlanta last night.
Nash and company also had that W over the Hawks wrapped up
after three quarters, meaning tired legs may not be an issue at all. Phoenix
has now won three of their last four, with the emergence of Michael Redd – he's
scored in double figures in two straight – as a scoring spark off the bench
helping out majorly.
The Suns have actually won three straight in the
head-to-head series while covering ATS in each matchup too. Even though they are
pretty hit or miss on the road, seven points is a lot in my book and I'll take
that kind of sports betting value any day.
PICK: Phoenix Suns +7
Golden State (8-13 SU, 9-12 ATS) vs. Oklahoma City (19-5
SU, 13-11 ATS)
Tipoff at 10:30 PM EST
Out on the West Coast it's Golden State playing host to the Oklahoma City Thunder at Oracle Arena. The Thunder are the small NBA odds favorites while
the total opened at 204.5 at most sportsbooks.
After an exhausting overtime win over the Trail Blazers last
night, the Thunder are going to be struggling to give maximum effort on both
ends of the court in my opinion.
This means we could be in for another high-scoring matchup tonight
given the Warriors have scored over 100 points in four of their last five
games.
Ten days ago these teams met up and the total ended at 229,
easily eclipsing the O/U of 199 there. Kevin Durant dropped 37 points, Russell
Westbrook posted a 28/11/6 line to go along with seven steals, and Serge Ibaka
had 20 points and 12 boards.
For the Warriors, Dorell Wright nailed six threes to finish
with 23 points. He also chipped in with nine rebounds and five assists, while
four other Warriors ended in double figures as well.
Odds makers have adjusted the NBA lines accordingly after that
offensive explosion, but that's not scaring me in the slightest. I still think
this is a relatively low total when you consider what these two squads are
capable of.
PICK: OVER 204.5
