It’s a
short card on the NBA today but there are some plays I like.
Check
out these two NBA picks that I have identified as having some good value for
Tuesday night.
Orlando Magic vs. Washington
Wizards
Both
teams are coming off of back-to-back wins last night and now they will face off
from the Verizon Center in the capitol city of the United States. The Magic
destroyed the hapless Pistons last night from Orlando, despite being without
Dwight Howard and Hedo Turkoglu. Washington also had a blowout victory of their
own, as they dominated the top lottery-bound Bobcats, 113-85. The spread on the NBA odds board for
tonight’s game favors the Magic by -5.5, with a total of 195.
Howard
has already been ruled out for tonight’s game, and he is questionable for
tomorrow’s game. He has been out four of the Magic’s last six games with back
spasms and this should have had huge implications on the Magic. However, the
Magic could not miss from three-point land last night to make up for Howard
being out but tonight I do expect the Magic’s paint defense to suffer dramatically.
The
Wizards aren’t without their own injury concerns, as Nene, Trevor Booker,
Andray Blatche and Rashard Lewis are all out tonight. With the injuries for
both teams, the benches will be short and the defense will be lacking. Plus,
both teams will be tired from playing last night. That’s why I’m siding with
the over tonight. Four of Orlando’s last six games in Washington have gone
over, and six of the last nine games overall have gone over the total. Look for
a run and gun game tonight with plenty of three pointers.
My Pick: OVER 195
Sacramento Kings vs. Dallas
Mavericks
It’s do
or die time for the Mavericks, if they want any remote chance of defending
their title. They have dropped to the 7th seed and are tied with the
Nuggets for that spot. Dallas has lost three of their last four games, and six
of their last ten games. The Kings on the other side haven’t been much better.
Sacramento has lost four in a row and nine of their last eleven games.
These
two have split their season series 1-1, as Dallas dominated their first game,
and the Kings dominated the most recent one. The most recent win by the Kings
over the Mavs broke a ten game losing streak in this series by the Kings in the
last three seasons. The Mavs are 5-0 SU in their last five games playing the
Kings at home.
To add
to the Mavs domination, Dallas is 15-4-1 ATS in their last twenty games against
the Kings. Sacramento has been through a lot of turmoil this season, and are
once again back to their losing ways. They have not been playing well, and now
on the road, there is no way they don’t get blown out by Dirk and company.
Dallas
has finally gotten rid of the cancer that is Lamar Odom and his drama filled
wife and her family, so they should be able to move on from that in a big way
at home. They need this win a lot more then the Kings, and I see them turning
back into the championship caliber Mavs tonight, if only for just the evening.
My Pick: Mavs -9
