Phoenix blew it big time when they last met the Pacers and blew a 24-point lead in a loss at Conseco Fieldhouse. Look for the Suns to rise to the occasion tonight at home.
It’s doubtful Jim O’Brien and his young Pacers wanted to head west anytime soon but the schedule maker doesn’t play favorites and as a result Indiana now finds itself in the desert for the finale of this four-game West Coast swing.
After falling to the Lakers and Trail Blazers earlier in the week, the Pacers were 2-18 SU and 6-14 ATS as dogs versus the Western Conference this season when they headed into Denver last night.
The Nuggets built an early 10-point, first-quarterr lead and though the fourth quarter rally effort from the Pacers was admirable, Indiana dropped a 122-114 decision as 11-point underdogs.
It won’t get any easier as the Phoenix Suns will be especially anxious to make amends for a 122-114 setback they suffered to the Pacers in the Conseco Fieldhouse on January 13.
Installed as four-point road chalk, Phoenix bolted to a 16-point lead at intermission and led by as many as 24 before the Pacers rallied to get the win. Mike Dunleavy scored 30 points in 26 minutes of action and Danny Granger had a game-high 33 for Indiana in the comeback.
With Phoenix off an eight-point upset loss at home to the Jazz on Thursday, and 5-1 SU and ATS in this series with same-season revenge, look for the Suns to get the job done.
