Chance Harper - The Mavericks got a rare home cover in Game 1 against the Spurs with a 100-94 win as four-point favorites.  The spread is about the same for tonight's Game 2 at American Airlins Center in Dallas.  One battle to wach will Tim Duncan against Erick Dampier, with San Antonio ready to send the Mavs center to the free throw line at the drop of a hat. TNT has the tip at 9:30 p.m. following the Bobcats, Magic broadcast from Orlando.

Joe Freda - Kobe Bryant and the Lakers ruled Game 1 of their series with the Thunder before just barely getting the 7 ½-point cover with an 87-79 win.  Now LA looks to take a 2-0 lead Tuesday night before the series shifts to Oklahoma City.  If the Thunder is to have a solid chance at evening the match, it will need a better game from star Kevin Durant.  Tuesday's game tips at 10:30 p.m. (ET) from Staples Center with TNT on the broadcast.

DonBest.com - All the talk about Mike Brown's bunch being rusty working superstars back into the lineup proved to be just that, talk, on Saturday as the Cavaliers scored a 96-83 win and cover versus the Bulls.  The only thing rusty proved to be both teams' outside shooting and Joakim Noah's brain with the Chicago center's comments giving Cleveland players and fans more motivation heading into Monday's Game 2 set for an 8 p.m. tip-off.

Chance Harper - The San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Mavericks begin what has seemingly become their annual NBA Playoff series on Sunday, but unlike most of the past series, it is the Mavericks that own home court advantage this time around. Dallas should be confident too after winning three of the four head-to-head meetings this season, and the Mavericks became stronger after the trading deadline. Tip-off is at 8:00pm ET on TNT.

Chance Harper - The Celtics' late-season slump dropped them to fourth in the Eastern Conference, meaning a first-round win over the Heat earns a second round matchup with the Cavs.  The good news is Boston is a solid favorite to at least get to Round 2 with its home-court edge over Miami who failed to beat the C's during the regular season.  Game 1 tips from the TD Garden Saturday night with ESPN on the broadcast chores.

Chance Harper - And then there was one, as in one day left in the NBA's regular season.  We don't know much more about the playoffs than we did a week ago with the seeding out West still up in the air and the last slot in the East still undecided.  Andrea Bargnani and the Raptors will be at home to take on the Knicks while the Chicago Bulls travel to Charlotte and can lock up the final postseason invitation with a win over the Bobcats.

Jim Feist - The lineup is just about set for the NBA postseason, and in the East it is Cleveland carrying the title of heavy favorite heading into the playoffs.  Can the Magic pull another upset?

Joe Freda - Chicago enters Tuesday's tilt with Boston holding a slim half-game lead over the Raptors for the eighth and final playoff slot in the Eastern Conference.  The Bulls' fate is in their own hands, with wins in their final two games giving them the last postseason invitation.  Boston will likely rest several starters with fourth place in the East secured.  TNT has the contest from the Windy City's United Center at 8 p.m. (ET).

The Suns close the season with games against the Nuggets and Jazz.  Phoenix knows it can't let this one at home against the Rockets slip away if it wants to finish fourth.

Chance Harper - The final weekend of the regular season includes a big showdown Sunday between the Bulls and Raptors.  It also includes a rematch of last year's Eastern Conference finals in Cleveland between the host Cavs and Orlando Magic.  Dwight Howard and the Magic ride into Cleveland on a three-game winning streak while the Cavaliers have dropped three of their past four games as they rest up for the ensuing postseason.

Joe Freda - The dust isn't going to settle in the NBA's wild, wild Western Conference until the very end.  Entering the weekend, seven teams are bunched from second to eighth and separated by just 3 ½ games. That makes Friday's matchup at Portland's Rose Garden between the Trail Blazers and Mavericks a big one.  The Blazers have been heating up with eight wins in their last 10 and will face a Mavs squad that is 24-14 on the highway.

Bob Harvey - This could very well be a playoff series preview with the Western Conference so close, meaning tonight's Suns, Thunder matchup should be played with a playoff atmosphere.

Bob Harvey - It's a case of the two combatants having different priorities tonight when the Bulls host the Cavaliers in the first game of TNT's Thursday doubleheader.  Chicago is just a half-game behind the Raptors for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East, with a huge game coming up this Sunday between the two in Toronto.  Meanwhile the Cavaliers have already clinched home-court throughout the NBA playoffs.

Joe Freda - Just two games separate the Spurs and Suns in the tightly-bunched Western Conference standings.  That margin could be chopped in half on Wednesday night.

Chance Harper - Oklahoma City has been the most pleast surprise of the season that is rapidly winding down.  The Thunder roll into an all-important home date with the Nuggets tonight with a 48-29 record on the floor and 46-31 mark at the window this season.  Kevin Durant has a shot at the NBA's scoring title, and OKC still has a shot at the Northwest Division title plus the second seed in the West.  Tip from the Ford Center is set for 8.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, contrary to some reports, have no intention of coasting into the NBA postseason.  Head coach Mike Brown knows that anything less than a championship could be LeBron James' ammo to bolt from the Cavs via free agency this summer.  Cleveland travels to Boston this Easter Sunday to face a slipping Celtics squad.  ABC has the tip at 1 p.m. (ET) followed by a Spurs, Lakers battle in LA.
