Thursday night’s WNBA betting board has a pair of key conference battles, with NBA TV providing national coverage of both matchups with the Sky vs. Fever and Stars vs. Storm.

The evening’s opener has the Indiana Fever hosting the Chicago Sky, while the nightcap has the San Antonio Silver Stars visiting the Seattle Storm.  This basketball handicapper is backing the home ‘chalk’ in each contest in the WNBA betting odds, with both hosts looking to end losing streaks prior to the WNBA league’s four-day All-Star break.

Chicago Sky at Indiana Fever (-8, Total: 147), 7 p.m. (ET)

Indiana picked up its third straight loss in Tuesday’s 84-74 setback as a 2 ½-point road favorite against the Atlanta Dream.  The Fever were held to 40-percent field shooting, while connecting 19-of-21 at the foul line.

Fever forward Tamika Catchings notched a season-high 22 points, while adding team-highs of eight rebounds and six assists.  Catchings’ mate Erin Phillips drained 3-of-4 from three-point land en route to 21 points.

Chicago cashed its fourth ticket in six games with Tuesday’s 78-69 win as a 3 ½-point home favorite against the Seattle Storm.  The Sky put the battle away in the fourth quarter, outscoring Seattle in the final stanza, 24-14.

Sky center Sylvia Fowles piled in team-highs of 24 points and nine boards.  Chicago’s starting backcourt duo of Epiphanny Prince and Courtney Vandersloot united for 12 assists, while shooting 14-for-26 from the field.

Indiana is 5-1 ATS in its last six meetings against the Sky, including June’s 65-57 win as a seven-point home favorite.  Take the Fever to cash again in this spot as home ‘chalk,’ with Chicago 0-3 ATS in its last three road games.

San Antonio Silver Stars at Seattle Storm (-4, Total: 147), 10 p.m. (ET)

Sue Bird Seattle StormSeattle returns home after a 1-2 spread mark in its three-game road trip, ending with Tuesday’s loss in Chicago.  Storm guard Sue Bird connected 10-of-23 from the field en route to a team-high 26 points, while mate Ashley Robinson logged a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards.

San Antonio notched its second straight win in Monday’s 79-69 victory as a two-point road favorite against the Los Angeles Sparks.  The contest’s combined 148 points dipped below the ‘total’ of 157 ½, making the ‘under’ 5-0-1 in San Antonio’s last six games.

Silver Stars guard Becky Hammon sank 4-of-8 from beyond the arc, finishing with 26 points.  Hammon’s mate Sophia Young recorded her second double-double in three games, piling in 18 points and 10 rebounds.

San Antonio edged out the Storm, 69-66, in last Thursday’s meeting between the Western Conference rivals.  The Silver Stars led by as many as 13 points, while Seattle held on to cover ATS as a five-point road dog.

The Silver Stars’ starting five were all held to single digits on the scoreboard, while the squad’s bench duo of Danielle Robinson and Danielle Adams united for 35 points.  San Antonio held Seattle to 39.7 percent field shooting, with Storm guard Tanisha Wright logging a team-high 18 points.

Look for Seattle to be in revenge mode for the rematch at KeyArena, making four points a bargain to lay here.  The Storm are 4-0 ATS in their last four home meetings against San Antonio, with another pointspread cover brewing in sports betting
