This is not even close to the same Cleveland State team that took Butler down last season.  Back the Bulldogs on Thursday night at home when they host the Vikings.

The Cleveland State Vikings lost two key components to their offense in guards Cedric Jackson and J'Nathan Bullock who combined to produce over 25 points per game and double-digit rebounds.

SBR BasketballThey were not the only losses to this CSU team as big man Chris Moore is also gone as well as senior forward George Tandy who was a key contributor to this Horizon League Championship team.

The Bulldogs will look to avenge last season’s Horizon Tournament loss to the Vikings when they host Cleveland State on Thursday night. Butler returns all five starters from last season’s 26-6 overall record and 15-3 conference record which was good enough for first place.

Many believed last season would be a down year for Butler because they had to start three freshmen as they did in every single game, and you see how that turned out.

The Vikings enter 7-10 SU so far with a dismal 4-8 mark ATS.  Cleveland State is off two losses at the window and Butler owns an 8-2 SU mark the last 10 times the two schools have met.

Too much firepower for Butler and the Bulldogs have the ability to control the pace and tempo on both ends of the floor.  So we have no hesitation in laying the double-digits here as the Bulldogs avenge last season’s loss and roll to an easy victory on Thursday night in Indianapolis.

Free Pick: Butler -15½ (-110)
