The North Carolina Tar Heels and Indiana Hoosiers get set to face each other tonight, November 27 at the Assembly Hall in Bloomington Indiana in a matchup that features two of the most prestigious college basketball programs in the nation.
Tip off is scheduled for 9:35 PM
EST and will be broadcasted live by ESPN.
The NCAA Basketball odds currently list Indiana as a hefty -10
point favorite, while the total is coming in right at 156 points.
It seems as though the ACC/Big Ten Challenge never
disappoints and tonight’s matchup lives up to top billing as it showcases two
of the best teams in the nation, as number 13 North Carolina clashes on the
court with the number 1 ranked Indiana Hoosiers.
North Carolina has enjoyed success
in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge over the years, winning 7 of last 9 matchups, but
tonight they will have to beat the top ranked team in the nation if they want
to earn number 8.
Thus far the UNC Tar Heels are off to
a 5-1 start and while this game is being played on the road it is still
favorable for bettors siding with North Carolina because they 8-2 against the
spread in their last ten games when listed as an underdog between 7 ½ and 10
points.
Meanwhile, the Indiana hoosiers are off to a
perfect 6-0 start to the 2012/13 college basketball campaign, while also
producing a stellar 5-1 against the spread record.
Make no mistake about it, the Hoosiers are much more talented
then the Tar Heels and tonight will have the opportunity to prove it front of a
national audience.
The Hoosiers are fortunate to
feature the same starting lineup this season from last year, which took the
school to the Sweet 16 for the first time in nearly ten years.
Indiana is scoring just shy of 89
points per game, which ranks fourth best in the nation.
In 49 contests against the ACC,
the Hoosiers own a 29-20 straight up record.
Betting
Trends
North Carolina has covered the NCAA Basketball betting lines in eight of
their last eleven games played against teams in the Big 10, but they are just
2-5 ATS in their last seven games versus a team with a winning percentage
better than .600.
They have kept the final score under the posted total in
four consecutive matchups versus teams in the Big 10.
Indiana is a sterling 16-5 against the spread in their last 21
games at home and 13-6 ATS in their last 19 following a point spread cover.
Four of their last five games overall have eclipsed the
total, but five of their last six played on a Tuesday have stayed under.

right over the Tar Heels for the victory and ATS win.
