We look at the top college basketball matchups coming over the next few days and how you can best take advantage with your picks. Only a few weeks remain until March Madness, but we've still got a number of awesome games coming up before tournament time.
Check out the top NCAA basketball matchups coming up this
week.
Not long now until the conference tournaments begin and
then, before you know it, the NCAA Tournament will be here!
Here are the games you don't want to miss over the next few
days.
Tuesday, February 28th
Some key conference clashes are on dock for Tuesday. Duke
visits Wake Forest and should be able to top the disappointing Demon Deacons,
who are just 4-10 SU in ACC play this season.
In an SEC showdown, Vanderbilt hosts Florida looking for
some revenge from last month's loss to the Gators. Be sure to read about my
pick for this game!
A couple Big Ten battles also look good, as Indiana hosts
Michigan State and Wisconsin entertains Minnesota. The Golden Gophers have lost
five straight and it'd be a surprise if they managed to turn things around in
Madison against a Badgers team that just topped Ohio State.
The game between the Hoosiers and Spartans should be
tremendous. Should Michigan State win, they'll clinch the regular season
conference title, but what will Cody Zeller and Indiana have to say about that?
Two other contests (Saint Louis/Xavier and Wyoming/TCU)
should be good matchups as well.
Wednesday, February 29th
Another incredibly busy Wednesday sees a host of ranked
squads take to the court.
UNC, Marquette, Missouri, Ohio State, UNLV, Louisville, San
Diego State and Temple will all be in action. The two standout games will be
the Tigers' home game against Iowa State and then the Big East meeting between
Cincinnati and Marquette.
Missouri has lost two straight and if this game was against
any other team but Iowa State you'd like their chances of a blowout win. Yet
the Cyclones have been outstanding this season and are winners of three in a
row. A victory over Mizzou and they'd most certainly be in the Top 25 rankings
next week.
It'll also be interesting to see how Ohio State responds
after losing at home to Wisconsin. The Buckeyes duke it out with Northwestern
and that may not exactly be a walk in the park.
Meanwhile, the Mountaineers are playing at a high level
right now (five straight wins) but beating out the Bearcats on the road is
going to take maximum concentration and effort.
Elsewhere, Temple recently lost for the first time in months
and need a win over a solid Massachusetts team to stay in the rankings.
Thursday, March 1st
Will Kentucky remain undefeated at home when they play host
to Georgia? I'm going to go out on a limb here and say yes.
Anthony Davis further cemented his lottery pick status with
another dominating performance, this time against Vanderbilt. He and his
talented teammates should have no problems with the Bulldogs.
Virginia's matchup with Florida State should be a gritty
affair. Points will likely come at a premium as these two ranked ACC foes go at
it in Charlottesville.
I'm also going to be paying close attention to Michigan's
road game versus Illinois. The Wolverines were just embarrassed at home by
Purdue and need a win to have even the slimmest hope of taking over the number
one spot in the Big Ten.
The other contests that look enticing on Thursday are
Nevada/New Mexico State and Oregon/Colorado. All four teams involved are having
respectable campaigns this season, meaning the games should be quite competitive.
