Here is our Betting Tends for the Big-10 to better help you understand what has been happening across the board in this conference so that you can make more valuable sports picks.
The Big 10 has two of the Top 5 teams in the country this
year, Michigan, currently ranked #1, and Indiana, currently ranked #3.
Often the elite teams in the country are somewhat overvalued
on their spreads, which does appear to be the case with Indiana, but sometimes
they do maintain betting value, especially in certain situations, which also
appears to be the case with Michigan.
The Big 10 is stacked this year. It also has 3 additional
teams currently ranked in the Top 25, all of which do appear to have spreads
very accurately priced by the market overall. Ohio St, for example, has seen
all 6 of their most recent games finish with final scores within 3.5 points of
the spread set by NCAAB odds makers, a very remarkable stat.
With totals, however, there could be significant and
extended value in the Big 10. A number of teams have been trending under very
strongly since conference play began, and many of them have been going under
their totals by a significant amount. We have recently seen a number of big 10
games with totals in the 110s and 120s that nevertheless went under by double
digits.
Wisconsin, Ohio St, Penn St, Nebraska, Northwestern, and
Minnesota are all teams that have been known for low-scoring games in recent
years, and could all be involved in upcoming games with decent value on the
under.
I look into all of this in detail in my ATS update for the
Big 10 covering the games through January 29th to help you with your college basketball picks!
