The top-ranked Kentucky Wildcats look to extend their 50-game home winning streak when they host Vanderbilt at Rupp Arena in Lexington. Game time is 12:00 PM ET, and our NCAA basketball picks are in.

Sportsbooks are yet to release the NCAA Basketball odds for tomorrows early matchup. However, we do have a previous matchup to use as the measuring stick for our NCAA Basketbll picks, and it looks as if we have two options worth a look.

For the second time in two weeks, Vanderbilt will get a crack at knocking off the No. 1 team in the nation. The Wildcats won the first meeting on February 11 holding for a 69-63 decision and a narrow road ATS victory. Kentucky lost a 13-point halftime lead but recovered for a 69-63 win in Nashville on Feb. 11. Vandy’ had four players in double figures topped by John Jenkins’ 15 points. The Commodores didn’t shoot well, hitting only 36.5 percent for the game.

John JenkinsWednesday night, Jenkins scored 21 points and Vanderbilt beat South Carolina 59-48 for its third straight victory. Over the last three games, Jenkins has scored 75 points on 26 shots from the field. He’s 13-of-18 on 3-pointers and 24-of-27 on free throws over that stretch. He also tied a single-game career high with two blocks on Wednesday.  

The Vanderbilt Commodores (20-8, 9-4 Southeastern Conference) have had seven 20-win seasons in the in the past nine, all under coach Kevin Stallings. Vanderbilt stayed in sole possession of third in the SEC, a game behind Florida.

Festus Ezeli added 14 points and blocked four shots, and Lance Goulbourne added 12 points. Jeffery Taylor, the SEC’s second-leading scorer averaging 17.8 points, had a season-low four.

The Kentucky Wildcats (27-1 SU, 13-0 SEC) beat Mississippi State 73-64 on Thursday for its 19th straight win. The Wildcats trailed by 13 points at the half--their largest deficit of the season but closed on a 20-4 run. Anthony Davis had 13 points and 11 rebounds at for his 12th double-double of the season. He had a pair of blocked shots slightly below his average of 4.9 per game which is tops in the nation. Davis has already smashed Kentucky’s single-season record for blocked shots with 131, and is averaging team highs of 13.9 points and 9.7 rebounds as well.

The Cats had five players reach double-figures in points and two players hit for double-doubles. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist scored 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Terrence Jones and sophomore guard Doron Lamb both added 11 points each.

Darius Miller was scoreless until hitting his first bucket with 7:51 left in the game. He finished with 12 points on 3-of-6 shooting behind the arc.

Run the table

With 13 down and three games to go, talk has turned to Kentucky’s chances of sweeping the SEC regular season.

Kentucky WildcatsIf the ‘Cats win their last three games, they’d become the first SEC basketball team to finish 16-0 in the conference since the Wildcats did it in the 2002-03 season.

Trends

Kentucky is 4-11-1 ATS at home this season and 16-9-1 to the ‘under’. The Wildcats lead the nation in field goal defense (36.3 percent) and are 11th in points allowed (58.2 ppg). Kentucky is 22nd in scoring (77.6 points per game) and 16th in field goal percentage (48.5).

Vanderbilt has been a Jekyll and Hyde ATS team this year. Their home spread mark is 4-9 compared to a financially sound road record of 7-2. Vandy’ is 14-10 to the ‘under’ this season including a 5-4 record as visitor. The Commodores are averaging 73.9 points per game and are allowing an average of 65.5 per outing.

Harvey’s Take: It's been well documented. The Wildcats for all their talent haven't been a 'money' team this year. They managed a cover against Vanderbilt in the first meeting but I doubt if they'll do it this time.
