The Chargers and Lions both have a lot of injuries this week. Look for San Diego to run the ball often with their passing tandem wounded, and the Lions figure to let down.
Both the San Diego Chargers and Detroit Lions are beat up physically, and we feel that points will be hard to come by today.
[articleBanner]who2beton[/articleBanner]The Chargers got beat up by the Tennessee Titans last week, yet still managed to escape with the 23-17 overtime win. Their quarterback Philip Rivers and their biggest receiving threat, tight end Antonio Gates are both nicked up, so the Chargers will probably compensate by feeding All-World running back LaDainian Tomlinson the ball all game long, especially vs. a Detroit defense that is allowing134.3 rushing yards per game on a generous 5.6 yards per carry over the last three games. This should serve to eat up a lot of clock.
As for the Lions, not only do have a long injury list, but they have to be hurting emotionally also after that heartbreaking 28-27 loss to the Dallas Cowboys last week. That was the Lions’ best performance in over a month, and the fact that they came up just short vs. the best team in the NFC has to make it difficult for them to get motivated again this week.
The Chargers should win this game at home, but we look for a lower scoring game than this total would indicate.
