This week’s recap focuses on a very close matchup from Week
10 – where the Falcons pulled away from the Ravens and they both look like
strong plays next week.
Thursday night’s game was a good one. Featuring two tough teams, the Atlanta
Falcons hosted the Baltimore Ravens in a cross-conference showdown.
In this week’s recap we focus on this game alone – as Week
11 NFL betting odds look strong for both of these teams.
Atlanta Falcons Play
Well on Offense – 7-2 Now on the Season
Winning with a final score of 26-21, the Atlanta offense was working
extremely well. Most of the basics were
taken care of, especially in regards to possession and turnovers.
Without a single turnover in the game, Atlanta controlled the ball and the clock. They had the ball 35 minutes to just less
than 25 minutes for Baltimore.
Matt Ryan played extremely well, passing for 316 yards on
32-of-50 on the day. He had three
touchdowns. The 316 yards passing was
the second-best mark of his career.
Atlanta rushers added only 60 yards on the ground, with Michael
Turner
having 17 carries for only 39 yards.
That was perhaps the least impressive aspect for the Falcons – though it
is the Ravens defense that this can be largely attributed to, which is eighth
in the league with 99.8 rushing yards allowed per game.
In Week 11 betting lines the Falcons
head to St. Louis where they are three-point underdogs currently. Sportsbooks have the game set at 42 ½ points
for the total.
Ravens look to
Bounce-Back Next Week Despite Shaky Performance
Baltimore of course did not have
such a good game.
Defensively the seventh-best team in points allowed (18.3)
and tenth-best in total yards allowed (316.4) per game had some problems. Matt Ryan truly caused problems, adding 100
yards to the 216.7 allowed per game by the Ravens
this season – their lowest defensive ranking at 14th in the league.
The two turnovers, one fumble and one Joe Flacco interception,
did not help the Ravens, especially in regards to the disparity in ball
possession. Ray Rice had his
second-worst yard total of the year in 59 rushing yards – as the coaching staff
gave him less carries after the first instrumental drive spearheaded by Rice,
oddly enough.
Look for a rebound performance next week – the Ravens
will travel to face the Carolina Panthers in Week 11 NFL odds. Currently the Ravens are favored by nine to
nine-and-a-half points with a 37-point total.
Overview
Keep these two teams in mind for next week’s betting odds,
as they could be strong plays after their tough and close Week 10 game.
