Super Bowl props big with pros and public

They're like candy to a serious sweet tooth.  Prop bets for the Super Bowl are big business, and SBR.tv's Peter Loshak gets some help from Justin7 sorting through the strategies.

In Part 1 of their interview, Loshak gets a behind-the-scenes look at how professional prop bettors approach betting Super Bowl props.

Justin himself starts out by pricing out hundreds of props he knows will be offered, beginning with a basic assumption that the posted spread and total on the game (once they stabilize after opening) are accurate.

Sportsbooks love to offer a ton of prop bets on the Super Bowl to attract recreational action, as the public loves to enhance their rooting interest with fun and interesting bets.

But the pros love to bet Super Bowl props as well, as they often offer some of the best line value around. SBR.tv’s Peter Loshak interviewed SBR moderator and stat modeling expert Justin7 about Super Bowl prop betting, one of Justin’s particular areas of expertise.

Then Justin and the other pros employ careful money management strategies that have to focus as much on opportunity cost and risk management as actual line value. This is because, perhaps surprisingly, they actually often wind up with their entire bankrolls tied up in Super Bowl prop bets, and some, as Justin reveals, actually borrow money to temporarily be able to bet over 100% of their normal bankrolls.
