Tonight's NHL slate offers us just three games tonight, so lets try to run the table. Check out my NHL predictions for these games, as we try to maxamize out our NHL betting payouts.

Lets check out both of tonight's games and cover the NHL picks I find to have the best chance of in cashing for us as the sportsbooks.

Washington Capitals vs. Ottawa Senators

NHL Odds: Senators -150

Ottawa SenatorsThe Washington Capitals look like a team that’s running out of gas these days. They’ve now lost five of six and can’t seem to find any way to win on the road.

The Caps took one on the chin on Monday, losing 5-0 to the Carolina Hurricanes. Wednesday’s game will wrap up a four-game road trip but they’ve now lost seven of their last nine road games.

Washington has been a bad road team all season long with just 10 wins in 30 road games. Now they have to head to Ottawa to face a Sens team that has won three straight.

The Caps 5-0 loss on Monday shows the kind of effort they’re putting in these days. Alexander Ovechkin had just one shot on net in that loss, which is startling. Even some of the players spoke about being surprised that they’re still in the playoff race given how they’ve played.

The Sens are 4-0-1 in their last five and have outscored their last three opponents 16-2. The price is high on Ottawa but this is a bet-against spot against Washington.

NHL Picks: Senators

Boston Bruins vs. St. Louis Blues

NHL Odds: Over/Under 5

The Boston Bruins have gone ice cold this month as they’ve already been shutout four times. Playing in St. Louis against the team that leads the NHL in shutouts doesn’t figure to be the right solution.

It’s a tough spot for the Bruins as they’ve had several days off to get back on track but they have only three wins in their last nine games. At this point, one might have to wonder how much they have left in the tank. Keep in mind that they have played a lot of hockey over the last year, which includes a playoff run that stretched to three seven-game series.

Even so, the Bruins appear to be the better play simply based on value but value doesn’t do anything for you if they don’t win. The Blues could use this game as proving grounds to get a win against the Stanley Cup champs.

So instead, we’ll have a look at the under.

The Bruins haven’t been doing much scoring of late and nobody really scored on the Blues when they’re at home. The under is 7-2-1 in the Blues last 10 games overall, 8-1 when playing with two days rest and 16-6 when playing a team with a winning record. They coughed up a 1-0 third period lead in Chicago on Sunday and they’ll want to make amends, so look for them to tighten things up. Take the under.

NHL Picks: Under

Los Angeles Kings vs. Colorado Avalanche

NHL Odds: Kings -115

The Colorado Avalanche have faded very quickly over the last couple of weeks but a meeting with the Los Angeles Kings might turn it around. The Avs have lost three of four and eight of 11, but have taken all three meetings with the Kings this season.

The Kings have actually scored just four goals in those three games and truth be told, they’ve been plagued by weak offense all season long. They did manage four goals in Phoenix on Tuesday night but they had notched exactly one goal in four of their previous five games.

They’ve also been in the dumps too, losing seven of their last nine games. Wednesday’s affair is their third game in four nights, so really it doesn’t make a lot of sense to be laying that extra juice with the road team in this spot. Add the Avalanche to your sports betting picks.
