Wednesday night's NHL action gives us only four games to choose from, so I have picked three matchups that I feel hold great value for NHL bettors. Check out my NHL picks for a few of tonight's games, as we try to maxamize out our NHL betting payouts.
Lets check out some of tonight's biggest games and cover the NHL picks I find to have the best chance of in cashing for us as the sportsbooks.
Washington
Capitals vs. Montreal Canadiens
NHL Odds: Capitals -110
The NHL has been wildly unpredictable this season. Case
and point: who would have figured the Washington Capitals, who had
won….straight would lose 3-0 at home to the lowly New York Islanders on
Tuesday? Or how about the Montreal Canadiens, who stymied the East-leading New
York Rangers 4-1 on Saturday to earn just their fourth win in 14 games.
While it looks like the Habs might have some momentum and
the Capitals are in a tough spot, we’ll go against conventional logic and take
the Caps.
Washington has clearly been the better team this season
and while the odds makers have adjusted the NHL betting lines given the teams latest result,
it’s simply too tempting to pass up the significantly better team with a cheap
price tag.
Regardless, the Capitals have won five of their last
seven trips to Montreal and don’t usually have a problem playing there.
The Canadiens are 2-8 this season after scoring four
goals or more in their previous game and are 8-18 against teams with a winning
record. Bet the Caps.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Chicago Blackhawks
NHL Odds: Blackhawks -215
The Chicago Blackhawks are back to rolling with wins in
three in their last four. Their also coming off a big win over the red hot San
Jose Sharks on Sunday, so confidence is sky high even though they are playing
without forward Patrick Sharp.
They’ll have an excellent chance to keep momentum going
as the Buffalo Sabres visit on Wednesday as they’ve lost nine straight on the
road. Worse yet, Buffalo has been outscored 36-12 in those nine losses.
Overall, they have lost 11 of their last 14 games.
Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller just doesn’t have it this
year. There’s plenty of time for that to change, but right now he’s just a
shadow of his former Vezina Trophy-winning self. He’s 3-7-0 in his last 11
games while posting a whopping 3.48 GAA. He’s coming off an ugly 5-0 loss to
the Detroit Red Wings on Monday where he only lasted 24:32 after giving up all
five goals on just 19 shots.
The juice is too high to take the Blackhawks straight up
but given how badly the Sabres have been outplayed on the road, a puck line
play makes sense.

Phoenix Coyotes vs.
Anaheim Ducks
NHL Odds: Ducks -135
The Anaheim Ducks have some momentum on their side so
we’ll lay a relative small number with them on Wednesday night.
For whatever reason, the light bulb has turned on for the
Ducks and they’re finally playing like the playoff team that most bettors
projected them to be. They are 5-0-1 in their last six and are coming off a win
against the Western Conference-leading Vancouver Canucks.
The Ducks have been scoring at a torrid pace with an
average of with 4.2 goals per game in that span. They’ve outscored opponents
26-9 in those games.
The Phoenix Coyotes are coming off a 6-1 win over the
Colorado Avalanche on Monday but overall, that was just their second win in
their last seven games. While they were a strong road team to start the year,
they have just one road win in their last eight.
Mike Smith has made three starts against the Ducks this
year and even though he’s won two of three, he’s allowed 10 goals in those
games. With the Ducks playing better, they’ll get by the Coyotes on Wednesday.
