LeBron James Heat vs Cavs Odds

LeBron James is already playing games with his new team. He's ready to go. But what will be the outcome? SBR Forum oddsmakers clue you in.

It was the biggest story of the year. The landing spot for LeBron James drew the attention of NBA and non-NBA fans for months. Now that the King has arrived in South Beach, we have a few more questions that only this coming basketball season can answer.
LeBron will get the best of the Cavaliers this season

Feeling betrayed, Cavs fans are stunned and angry that James left Cleveland for Miami. But they’re also peeved because they know that the Cavs could go the way of the Cleveland Indians this coming season; a bottom feeder. And that has to downright infuriate a basketball city, to know they are right back where they were seven years ago, before James turned pro. For his part, James has been steadfast in saying he made the right decision.

So, just to add a little spice to the pot, SBR Forum oddsmakers offer the following sports prop odds

Who will lead the Miami Heat in scoring avg. for 2010-2011?

Chris Bosh        4 to 1
Dwayne Wade  Even
LeBron James   2 to 1

Who will have more 2010-2011 all-star appearances?

LeBron James  1 to 4
Cavaliers          3 to 1

What will be higher in the 2010-2011 NBA season?

LeBron James scoring average  5 to 7
Cavaliers reg. season win total   5 to 4

“Most sports fan in North America will be glued to their television set for game one of Miami’s regular season, and we believe these odds give us all a little more food for thought,” explains Steve Ricci, SBR Head Oddsmaker

“LeBron has stated that all he wants to do is win and that passing off the ball is fine with him. It’s because of his passing ability, and his strong desire to win that we believe he’ll be second in team scoring to captain Dwayne Wade.” Ricci also believes that Chris Bosh will be reduced to a role player, grabbing boards, making put-back shots and not factoring overly much in the team scoring race.

As for the all-star possibilities, you’d be hard pressed to find an NBA fan who doesn’t believe LeBron will be playing in the mid-season game. That, combined with an expected down season for the Cavs, means LeBron is heavily favored to be an all-star, with the Cavs to go unrepresented in the classic.

Finally, with the Cavs headed for a non-playoff season, Ricci and his team believe there’s a good chance that LeBron’s scoring average could even be higher than the total wins Cleveland will rack up this season.

That would be the ultimate rubbing-it-in outcome, to see Cleveland be no better than they were before LeBron got there,” offers Ricci. “They didn’t get any roster players in the sign-and-trade with Miami and we expect more players to be shipped out of town as well. It could get ugly.”
