1 Caroline Wozniacki (-800) v Dominika Cibulkova (+665)
Wozniacki took control of Sharapova in the 6-3, 6-4 victory at Arthur Ashe Stadium. She looks at either Zvonareva or Kanepi if she can get past Cibulkova, who upset No. 11 Svetlana Kuznetsova 7-5, 7-4 (4).
Cibulkova won their first head-to-head matchup in 2007, with Wozniacki winning four consecutive matches without giving up a set. This is part of the reason why WTA tennis oddsmakers have placed a heavy favorite for Wozniacki in this matchup. She is also playing extremely well, dropping only 10 games through four rounds.
7 Vera Zvonareva (-304) v 31 Kaia Kanepi (+274)
Zvonareva has shut down Andrea Petkovic and Alexandra Dulgheru as expected in the last couple of rounds. She meets the Estonian Kaia Kanepi, fresh off of an upset against No. 15 Yanina Wickmayer 0-6, 7-6 (2), 6-1.

Zvonareva looks like she should be able to take care of Kanepi and prospectively face off against Wozniacki in the semifinals. Zvonareva and Kanepi have not previously met, and there is some upset value here, but that doesn’t look likely.
3 Venus Williams (-214) v 6 Francesca Schiavone (+196)
Venus Williams has not lost a set yet this tournament, though facing against only one seeded opponent (16 Shakar Peer). Schiavone is fresh off of a 6-3, 6-0 beating of 20 Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, which followed her thir round 6-1, 7-5 victory over 29 Alona Bondarenko.
Williams is a startling 6-0 against Schiavone, though four4 of these were from 2003 and 2004. You have to like Williams in the clutch at the US Open, though Schiavone has upset potential and could provide some ATP odds value.
2 Kim Clijsters (-460) v 5 Samantha Stosur (+405)
Clijsters is playing well after beating Ana Ivanovic 6-2, 6-1 in the fourth round and 27 Petra Kvitova 6-3, 6-0 in the third. She is an impressive 29-6 on the year before the tournament, as is Stosur with her 39-13 record. Stosur beat No. 12 Dementieva in three sets in the previous round.
Clijsters is the favorite here, 3-0 against Stosur in their head-to-head matchup history. WTA tennis sportsbooks agree placing Clijsters as the second-highest tennis odds to win in this round, after only the lopsided Wozniacki matchup. Clijsters has not lost a set against Stosur, and looks to move onto face either Williams or Schiavone in the semis.
